How to connect BigCommerce store to Multiorders

Integrate BigCommerce to Multiorders with this step by step guide

Updated over a week ago

Before you integrate!

The store can be connected to Multiorders in one of two ways which we will cover in detail later in the guide. Right now we want to introduce you to all of our BigCommerce integration's available features and limitations first. We believe it is critical for you to understand how everything works before you connect your store.

Table of Contents:

About BigCommerce Integrations.

Once your integration is connected, you will be able, but not limited to:

  • Update Stock and Price instantly from within Multiorders.

  • Ship your orders using a variety of methods.

  • Multiorders will import information like Images, categories, and weight, but it is unable to send updates back to BigCommerce with new data.

The import speed for the BigCommerce integration is as follows:

  • Order import: every 10 minutes

  • Product import: every 45 minutes

Multiorders limitations.

Certain things may work differently in Multiorders than you may expect. We are, however, constantly updating and improving our software, and these limitations may be addressed in future updates.

Updating Quantity:

Stock can only be updated for the product via Multiorders, and any stock changes made on the sales channel will not be imported back and will eventually be overwritten by Multiorders.

Updating price:

Price can be updated on the sales channel, but it can take up to 45 minutes to import updated product information back into Multiorders.

Deleting products:

Deleted products on the sales channel do not automatically delete in Multiorders, and you will need to remove them manually. Products deleted in Multiorders will not affect the sales channel, and if they are still available, they will be re-imported during the next sync.

Canceling orders:

Orders Canceled on Multiorders do not cancel on the sales channel. If the orders were New, they are moved to the Canceled status, and the order item quantity is restocked. If the order were shipped, they are moved to the Canceled status, but no quantity is restocked. The actual cancellation process needs to be done via the sales channel, and if the order is canceled on the sales channel, it will also update to a canceled status on Multiorders.

Updating variation info:

If you plan to make any changes to your product SKUs or titles, we recommend doing so before connecting your integration to Multiorders.

How to connect your BigCommerce integration?

There are two ways to connect your store to Multiorders. One is via the BigCommerce app store, and the other is direct via the Multiorders Integration page, but for this, you will need to get your API credentials from here. You can pick whichever one you are more comfortable with. Below you will find detailed guides for both.

Automatically connecting through the BigCommerce Appstore

To connect your store to Multiorders via the AppStore, follow this link to get to our app directly and press "Get This App"

You will be redirected to log into your store

Log into your existing store will take you to the app installation page

Once you get to this stage you can either log into an existing Multiorders account or register a new one.

Once you are done with either process you can go to the Integrations page to find your marketplace connected. In the next 10-15 minutes your inventory should be done importing with today's orders.

IMPORTANT: Due to the way BigCommertce apps work, you have Multiorders opened within your BigCommerce store. This works only in a very limited capacity and you are supposed to use Multiorders as an external app via https://app.multiorders.com/. Continuing to use Multiorders through the BigCommerce website will result in unexpected errors.

Manually connecting through the Multiorders integration page:

To connect your BigCommerce store through us, you will need 3 key pieces of information:

  1. Your store-hash. Which is a unique ID you can see in your store's URL once you log into your BigCommerce account. For example, your store URL looks something like this "https://store-bp8p8cx8lx.mybigcommerce.com/" so the bp8p8cx8lx is the store-hash.

  2. Client ID & Access Token. You will need to generate these keys in your store. To do so, log into your store then go to "Settings", then scroll to the bottom until you find "API accounts"

Press the "Create API account" button.

In the new window give the API account any name you want

Then in the OAuth scopes area, select these options.

When done press save and a new important window will pop-up

From that new window copy the Client ID and Access token keys. You will need these when connecting your integration. You will also get a .txt file from BigCommerce to save for later use if you need it.

With the extra information ready we can now proceed to connect your BigCommerce store to Multiorders.

  1. Once you are on the integrations page on Multiorders, press on your desired BigCommerce integration icon.

  2. A pop-up will appear with a list of important options for your integration. We will go through each option step by step.

  3. To connect your BigCommerce store you at least need to enable order management which will start syncing orders into Multiorders.

  4. Next, you can choose how much historical order data to import once your integration is connected.

  5. Then, you have the option of enabling Inventory management. We recommend enabling this as it will allow you to use Multiorders tools to it's fullest potential.
Please be aware: If you choose to manage inventory, you must only manage your stock through Multiorders. Stock changes made on the sales channel will not sync in and will be overwritten.

  6. Next, you can choose to give a unique Alias to your integration. This is especially important if you plan on connecting multiple BigCommerce stores from the same region. This integration name can also be used as a company name on documents generated through Multiorders.

  7. Now we'll be using the info we got earlier from your store.
    Enter your Client ID first

    Followed by the Store Hash

Finally, paste in the Access token

  8. The final Optional setting is the IOSS number pre-fill. When shipping to certain countries you may need to enter your IOSS number given to you by your marketplace (it is possible to have your own as well) for tax purposes. You can read more about it here.

  9. Once everything is filled in and selected press on Connect.

Additional Integration Settings

You can make further adjustments to your Etsy integration by clicking on one of the two icons you see at the top - centre of the integration menu.

Clicking on the first icon allows you to upload a custom logo for your store, this can then be shown on your invoices.

Clicking on the envelope icon brings up the Return address, Phone & Email pre-fill settings.

The Phone & Email settings allow you to pre-fill or overwrite telephone or email addresses on imported sales channel orders. You will not see it on the orders themselves, but this information will be used during shipping creation.
